We have new rooms coming in February
All our Superior rooms have been recently refurbished. While they are located in a listed building, they exude their own charm and character; retain their ornate fire places and high ceilings. They are fitted with all the modern comforts on the inside and the rooms at the front of the hotel are all second glazed.

The Ballantrae has more to offer than its great prices and convenient location. Like its city, the hotel has generations of history behind it and a lot of character. Every room is truly unique and some feature ornate windows while others have their own original fireplace.
Some of the décor is admittedly a little quirky, and we know that our incredible personal service and unique character make us one of the most charming 3 star hotels in central Edinburgh.
All of our rooms are spacious, but some are exceptionally so with high ceilings and plenty of walking room.

Large, spacious, each room has modern décor, a dressing table and a seating area with a flat TV screen. These rooms are configured with a double or two single beds with the option of adding an extra double bed upon request. One of these rooms is located on the top floor and has charming combed ceilings, giving a cute and cosy feel. Please advise if you have difficulty with stairs as we have rooms on other levels of the hotel that may be more suitable. Overhead shower in the bath

Large and spacious, each room has modern décor, a seating area and a dressing table. These rooms are configured with a double or two single beds with the option of adding an extra double bed upon request. These rooms are generously sized, stylish rooms with a flat TV screen. One of these is suitable for ambulant disabled people. Please advise if you have difficulty with stairs as we have rooms on other levels of the hotel that may be more suitable.
